Julia Rutland
Owner of the Aesthetic Design Style House
After years of being in "Corporate America" Julia decided to find a way to help bring more attention to talented independent fashion and accessory designers. With the help of her husband, Desmond, the birth of the Aesthetic Design Style House was developed.
There are so many new designers in the Midwest that feel they have to move to New York, Chicago, or Los Angeles to catch a break in the fashion industry. Julia feels that we need to keep this talent in the Midwest and help them to become successful without having to move elsewhere.
A strong Retail and Make-Up Artistry background help Julia to fit designers to the correct venues for their collections. One item of the utmost importance to Julia is that independent designers spend the majority of their time doing what they love - creating beautiful pieces. Aesthetic Design Style House helps to take care of the business end of the fashion industry.
Janelle Cissell
Public Relations/Marketing
Cissell, born and raised in Indianapolis, is a Junior at Indiana University Purdue University of Indianapolis (IUPUI) majoring in Public Relations. She runs a plus size fashion and lifestyle blog called Ruby Leonne. After graduation, Cissell plans to work as a freelance writer in Fashion Public Relations.
Alyssa Benner
Designer/Boutique Liaison
Benner, a native of Fowler, Indiana is a Senior at the Art Institute of Indianapolis majoring in Fashion Design. Not only does she intern for Aesthetic Design Style House, but she also works at the Pitaya boutique in Broad Ripple. Once Benner graduates, she wants to work for a fashion house or label while working on her own line.
